abcshooter.web.app uses Google Analytics, with cookies, to count visits and see how
far players get — see Section 5. None of that is in the App.
This policy explains how the ABC Smash app (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information. The App is directed to children and families, and we have designed it to comply with the Google Play Families Policy, the Apple App Store Kids guidelines, the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and the EU General Data Protection Regulation, including its provisions for children (GDPR / GDPR-K).
We do not collect any personal information. There are no user accounts, no login, and no registration, in the App or on the website. We do not ask for a name, email address, phone number, photo, location, or any other personal detail. We never collect advertising IDs, and we never build a profile of anyone.
The App — the paid version you install from the App Store or Google Play, and the free App Clip — collects nothing at all: no usage analytics, no device identifiers, no telemetry. On our website we do measure visits, in the ordinary way a website does, using Google Analytics. Section 5 explains exactly what that means.
To make the game work and remember your progress, the App saves a small amount of data locally on your device only (in the browser’s local storage). This includes:
This information never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else. You can erase it at any time using the “Reset progress” option in the app menu, or by clearing the app’s data / uninstalling the App.
The website is covered separately in Section 5.
The App can read game prompts aloud. This uses your device’s own built-in text-to-speech feature. No audio or text is sent to us or to any server for this to work.
The App is designed to run entirely on your device. It does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or social SDKs. The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play; those platforms have their own privacy policies governing app downloads, which are outside our control.
You can play the game for free in a browser at abcshooter.web.app (the same site
is also reachable as abcsmash.rcms.ch). That website is where we advertise the App,
so — like most websites — we measure it, in order to know how many people arrive, how far into a
lesson they get, and whether they go on to the store.
Every visit in a browser loads Google Analytics (our own property). It sets
its own cookies (_ga, _ga_…) so a repeat visit can be recognised as the
same browser. Google Signals and ad personalisation are switched off, so no
advertising identifier is used and no advertising profile is built about you or your child.
Processed under Google's privacy policy.
What it records is the game’s own progress, not you: that the page was opened, that the menu appeared, that a round started or ended, which lesson and language were chosen, and whether a store link was tapped. It never sees your name, your email, or anything you could be identified by, and it never sees the content of Section 2.
When we run an ad campaign, the ad links to a demo page —
abcshooter.web.app/?demo — which plays a limited trial of a few rounds per lesson.
Only on that page, and only if you actually arrived from an ad, one additional
advertising tag loads, belonging to the network you came from:
Only the network you actually came from is ever loaded — never two of them. These set their own cookies. They are told at most three things and nothing more: that the page was opened, that a trial finished, and that a store link was tapped — Snapchat is told only the first and the last of those. They are never told anything about how a game went, and none of them is given an email address or a phone number, because the game never asks anyone for either.
If you would rather not be counted on the website, you can block cookies for the site in your browser, use a content blocker, or simply install the App — which measures nothing.
Because the App collects no personal information from anyone, it collects no personal information from children. We do not knowingly create profiles of, or track, any user, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). No parental consent is required for the App because no data is gathered by it.
On the website, our own Google Analytics counts visits and uses a cookie to do so. It carries no advertising identifier and no ad personalisation — those are switched off deliberately and permanently, which is what the Google Play Families Policy requires of analytics in a children’s app, and we hold the website to the same line. It is not used to build a profile of a child, to target advertising at a child, or to identify anyone.
The advertising tags in Section 5 are stricter still: they load only on the demo page, and only for a visitor who arrived from an ad shown to adults — TikTok’s and Snapchat’s own policies restrict their advertising to users aged 18 and over — where the message the page ends on is a purchase decision for a parent.
If you would prefer your child to play with no measurement whatsoever, install the App: the version a child is handed on a phone or tablet is entirely free of all of it.
Nothing you do in the App is sent to us, so there is nothing for us to retain, access, correct, or delete on a server. All on-device data described in Section 2 is fully under your control and can be removed at any time from within the App or by uninstalling it.
The website measurement described in Section 5 is held in our Google Analytics property. It contains no name, email address, or other detail that identifies you, so we cannot look up or hand over “your” data — there is no key to look it up by. You can clear the cookies for the site in your browser at any time, which discards the identifier linking one visit to the next. If you have a question about it, write to us at the address in Section 9.
If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above and post the new version at this address. Material changes will be reflected before they take effect.
